Technical Support - FAQs
The FAQ section below has been put together to help you solve any difficulties you may experience with your light units.

Light will not turn on
- If the light has an independent switch, check it is in the ‘on’ position
- Does the light have power going to it?
- Are the positive and negative connected correctly?
- Is the correct/sufficient voltage getting to the light?
- Fluorescent tube may need replacing
- Fluorescent tube may be fitted incorrectly
Tube flickers during operation
- Tube may need replacing
- Intermittent connection
Tube is very dim
- Insufficient voltage getting to light
- Tube may need replacing
- Insufficient current available to light (due to wiring)
The ends of the tube are blackening
- Fluorescent tube will need replacing
- This can be caused by tube switching
There is a smell of burning coming from the light unit
- Turn off and contact Labcraft (Labcraft lights are made with fire retardant material)
The light is getting very hot when left on for longer periods
- If the tube needs replacing it will take more current and creates more heat
The light turns off after being on for a while
- Is the battery losing charge during operation (see operating spec)?
The halogen bulb in my Frigospot is not working
- The halogen bulb will only illuminate during cold conditions it will not come on at room temperature
Why does my light interfere with my radio?
- Fluorescent tubes run at a certain frequency that can affect MW and LW radios and occasionally other electrical equipment. Check the operating frequency of the light; a high frequency model may be needed.
