‘Lightools’ ray tracing software enables us to predict the real effects of a lens when placed in front of the light source.

A ‘rough’ lens is first designed within the dimensional parameters of the project.

Next, we import the ray data file of the specified light source – this contains information about how the source behaves, and how it emits light.

Finally the design can be optimised by setting an ‘objective’ or desired result, and allowing the software to make subtle changes.

The result is better performance as we can design lenses to focus or diffuse light as you need it, and reduce losses caused by stray light.

We also have a darkroom facility enabling us to test various products which can help us provide superior solutions to your lighting requirements.
